G Force

by Ali Akbar on Aug.09, 2009, under The Screening Room

Some of the boys in the advanced Quran class have a memorization class every other Sunday. After we read our ayahs, we then go to do something fun, like play soccer, go wath a movie, or just sit and talk. For our last outing we went to the theater and watched G Force.  We got there a little late but by the time we got there the movie just got started.  We only ended up missing the previews. We were supposed to watch 2D but brother made a mistake and it turned out to be 3D, so that was cool. Here are some info about and then the characters.

The movie was okay, had some funny parts, but overall, only gets one thumb up.

Bolt

by zar on Apr.19, 2009, under The Screening Room

sometime ago we watched a movie called…

at the camp. Bolt is a good movie. It is a bout a dog actor named Bolt who is the star in a TV show. The only problem is that he thinks all this is real!  He accidentally gets shipped away in dreadful…

styrofoam box.

When bolt gets out of the box he thinks the…

green eyed man took…

penny. So he gets…

this cat to lead him to the green eyed man. Oh yeah, this cat is a random cat that looks like the green eyed man’s cat. But this cat doesn’t know a thing about what Bolt is talking about. Then these 2 go to an RV place and randomly meet…

bolt

Rhino, Bolts biggest fan.

Oops I already told you too much! So go rent the movie NOW!

Monsters Vs. Aliens

by L Y N X on Apr.05, 2009, under The Screening Room

This movie the memorization class watched on Sunday April 5 ,2009 is a pretty good movie. It is called Monsters Vs. Aliens . Basically all the sites explain it pretty good. like filmschoolrejects.com explained it like this:

Basically the premise of the film, if you haven’t seen anything for it, is that Aliens have laded and are threatening the world…and only Monsters can defend us. The cast is really fun, and the characters are sure to please any fan of old school monster/sci-fi films. The cast consists of…

Monsters vs. Aliens: Bob

B.O.B. – Remember The Blob? Well BOB is what you might already be thinking. Voiced by Seth Rogen, BOB is a culinary experiment gone terribly wrong. Scientists were attempting to combine a ranch flavor to a tomato, and created the gelatinous force known as B.O.B.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Dr. Cockroach

Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. – Voiced by Hugh Laurie, Dr. Cockroach was the most brilliant mind in the world. He was actually attempting to combine the survival traits of cockroaches with humans, when he accidentally became a guy with a cockroach head. Maybe brings up thoughts of The Fly?

Monsters vs. Aliens: Dr. Cockroach

The Missing Link – Voiced by Will Arnett, the missing link is kind of like The Creature From the Black Lagoon. He is the missing link that was frozen during the ice age. He was thawed out by the government, and found a vacation resort occupying the same spot that used to be his old watering hole. Chaos ensued.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Ginormica

Ginormica – Voiced by Reese Witherspoon, Ginormica is a 49 feet 11 inches tall woman (Not to be confused with the 50 ft. Woman). Ginormica started out as a normal woman named Susan Murphy, but everything changed when her wedding was crashed by a meteor.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Insectosaurus

Insectosaurus – A small grub was exposed to radiation, and grows to a 350 ft. tall monster. This monster is a little baby though, still teething…but on sky-scrapers. He lets out screams that you might be able to compare to Godzilla, but looks more like Mothra.

Monsters vs. Aliens: General W.R. Monger

General W.R. Monger – Voiced by Keifer Sutherland, Monger is your stereotypically crazy old general who has lost his touch with reality. He has been locked down in the mysterious Area 52 along with the monsters that he has caught.

Monsters vs. Aliens: The President

The President – Voiced by Stephen Colbert, The President is a brave man who gives us a very funny musical performance to try and communicate with the aliens.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Gallaxhar

Gallaxhar – The only thing I know, comes from a trading card. It says “Destructive Potential: Can ruin your whole day. Forever.”

I think that pretty much gave it away but it really was a great movie.

Welcome to the Screening Room

by Eslami on Mar.29, 2009, under The Screening Room

This new category was actually Ali Akbar’s idea.  I saw he had a very nice comment on the serial Yusuf Peyambar (PBUH), which is shown on Jame Jam.  It is a rather popular series that we can all learn a lot from.  So I thought as we share our thoughts and comments on games and sports that we are keeping track of, if we see a nice movie or TV show, we can comment about that as well.  Enjoy guys…
