Quran Class 8/29/2009
by hmaslehat on Aug.31, 2009, under Brother's Weekly Recap, Quran Class Recap (B), Quran Class Recap (S), Sister's Weekly Recap
As we have all learned, reciting one ayah in the month of Ramadhan is equivalent to finishing the Quran in any other month.
This week the sisters’ Beginners and Advance Quran class joined each other to recite the 30th Juz of Quran. Each person recited more than one Surah while others were following along ….
The brothers continued their endeavor to finish the Quran and completed Juz 8 of the Holy Quran.
Usool-e-Deen:1)Tawheed
by hmaslehat on Aug.31, 2009, under Islamic Debate (S), Usool-od-Deen - Pillars of Religion
This week Mohebban girls were talking about Usool-e-Deen and Froo-e-Deen. We said that Usool-deen is beliefs in Islam, while Froo-e-deen is actions. Shia Muslims believe in 5 Usool-e-deen which are Tawheed( Oneness of Allah), Nabuwat ( prophet hood), Qiyamat ( Day of Judgment), Adl( Justice) and Imamat ( leadership). Sunni Muslims only believe in the first three principles…. We continued our discussion by saying that every Muslim needs to reach certainty about the Usool-e-deen in Islam, meaning that we are allowed to question these principles. Every muslim needs to have a clear understanding of their Usool-e-deen, or else their actions can be easily questioned… because our actions or Froo-e-deen (like Prayer, fasting etc) which are considered as rituals in Islam, are all performed because we believe in Usool-e-deen… so having faith in the oneness of Allah make us to pray and obey His commends as for example we fast during the month of Ramadan…. another example is our belief in the day of Judgment , which make us to become better people, give charity, and once again obey Allah…. If our Usool-e-deen is not fully understood, is the same as if our beliefs are incomplete….
So we continued by talking about the first principle of Usool-e-deen which is the concept of Tawheed or the oneness of Allah. All Mohebban girls were asked this question that why they believe in God and why they believe that God is only one?
Some came up with good answers, reminding all of us about the first debate we had in our Mohebban class,( the Atheist vs theist debate)…Sara said God is like air, we can’t see Him but we feel Him, or love which we can’t see it but all humans can feel it… Marzieh said if there was more than one God then there would be a lot of conflict in creating this world….. Maryam also added to this discussion that this world is so well organized and that s because there is a creator who created this world so perfectly…. All three of them were correct, for example what Marzieh said is based on a verse in the Quran and also what Maryam said is similar to some verses in the Quran where Allah(S.W.T) asks people that why don’t they(the people) think about their creation… meaning that this creation and this world is so perfect that it cannot be made by itself…
so to complete this discussion we said, Belief in God is an innate tendency that Allah has given all human beings… thats one of the reasons why some people and groups start worshiping idols in the past…it all because all humans have this desire to worship something or someone….. so as Sara said we feel God although we can’t see Him… Also we said that if we look at the world from a scientific point of view we would see so much perfection…. no randomness takes place in this world and it’s all because there is a divine power controlling it….This world, our own creation is indeed an indication and sign for the existence of God… as in the Quran says,”but for those who take heed “….
So for next time we will talk more about this principle in Islam, about why some people despite the natural tendency they have to worship a God, still they become atheists or why some people worship idols? inshallah we will compare these different schools of thoughts with Islam’s concept of Tawheed….

What a great trip! To end the month of Sha’ban and all of its celebrations, to reward the efforts put forth by all the members for the play in Fatemieh and the carnival last week, to have a great ending to an already fun-filled summer, Mohebban-e-Fatemeh (SA) headed out to King’s Dominion.
Instead of coming and completely recapping our trip, I will live that open to all of the attendees to leave their comments on their favorite ride, favorite moment, worse ride, and other comments. Personally, I think the best ride was the “Volcano!” and all of those who think differently, you should ride it again…
Check out our album here: King’s Dominion Album
We would like to thank all of the parents and chaperones who came out to help support the trip. Without your help, this trip would not have been possible. Sorry to all of those members who could not make it, this was the last Saturday before Ramadhan, so it was either go now or get stuck until next summer. Insha… we will try and make it up to you
…
All I can say about the trip is:
Patience and the Pieces of Bread
by mah on Aug.17, 2009, under Dastane Rastan, Islamic Stories

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Imam Ali (a.s) stated,
“Patience is like a head on a body. If a body had no head the body would be useless.”
Meaning that if a pious mo’amen who has faith in Allah doesn’t have patience his faith is useless.
The Virtue of Hope and Patience
Two Pieces of Bread
One day a very poor man who was once rich went to Imam Sajad’s house and said to him, ” I was once a rich guy but when I lost my job I lost everything. Now I can’t even provide food for my family.” Then he sighed and asked, ” Can you help me?”
Imam Sajad replied, ” I don’t have anything at the moment in the house, but be patient and Allah shall grant you, your necessity.”
Then the man left the house a bit dismayed but still hopefully and thankful to Allah. When he stepped out the door the Kaafars that did not believe in Islam and certainly not its Imams (Apostles) mocked him by saying, “Didn’t you say your Imam was capable of doing miracles, then he could have easily provided you with food. What is this religion that its Imams don’t even care about the well beings of their followers?!” When the man heard this he got so furious so he went inside to tell Imam Sajad his concerns. When the Imam heard about this he said, “I only have two pieces of bread which I’m going to give you. But Allah is beneficent so be thankful and patient and he will grant you what you need.” The man stepped outside and saw that the breads were dry to the point that it was almost inedible.
On the way home he saw a fisherman and he saw that he had a spoiled fish. So he asked for it in exchange for his dry bread. The fisherman looked at him and saw his cloth and their poor quality so he accepted. The fisherman thought to himself that after all the fish was spoiled. After a while the poor man saw a store and thought that he also needed salt along with the fish so he went inside the store and asked the owner, ” I have no salt at my house will you please be kind enough to accept this piece of bread for some salt?” And the store owner also looked at the poor man’s outfit and accepted.
When he got home the man told his wife what had happened and she responded, “It’s alright. God is grateful and beneficent. He will help us.” Then when they opened the fish to clean it they saw that inside it was a diamond. The poor man and his wife and children stared at it in shock and at once they knew what Imam Sajad meant by patience. The they heard the knock at the door. They stared at eat other. They were all sharing the same thought, “Could that be the fisherman coming to get his diamond back?!” But when they opened the door the fisherman returned his bread saying, ” This bread is too dry I cannot eat it, but you can have the fish though I don’t want it back.” After awhile the store owner knocked on the door with the same response.
So the man got another job. He could provide abundant food for his family. All by staying thankful and hopeful to Allah and also patient.
So:
Who ever is patient wins.

Did you know that mercy is above justice. Thing is that you can’t force mercy on someone.

Some of the signs of Imam Mahdi’s coming are…
- people are not upholding their promises
- an increase in oppression
- an increase in backbiting
- children are cursing at their parents
- men are dressing as women
- women are dressing as men
- hearts are filled with arrogance
- people are running away from scholars as sheep run away from wolves
WHERE DO YOU NOT SEE THIS???

- (no cursing)

Did you know that even listening to a backbite is haram.

Congratulations to all on the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AJTFS). What a great day! Mohebban-e-Fatemeh planned and organized their first ever carnival that included a bake sale, lunch, and games such as doghnut bobbing, three-legged races, bowling, football, soccer, fish pong, a moon bounce, and one of the biggest attractions:
A DUNK TANK!!!
Mohebban-e-Fatemeh (SA) members prepared the food, ran the stations, gave out the prizes, set up the day of, made the posters, and pretty much did everything for the carnival. Great job to them…
You can check out some great pics from the day here: Carnival Album
We ask Allah (SWT) to hasten the reappearnce of Imam Mahdi (AJTFS) and hope that all these efforts put forth by our members to celebrate his grand birthday are accepted by him insha….
In addition, mah had prepared a powerpoint presentation of facts for the day. These facts were used as part of the dunk tank game to quiz the throwers before they tried to sink the “victim.”

G Force
by Ali Akbar on Aug.09, 2009, under The Screening Room
Some of the boys in the advanced Quran class have a memorization class every other Sunday. After we read our ayahs, we then go to do something fun, like play soccer, go wath a movie, or just sit and talk. For our last outing we went to the theater and watched G Force. We got there a little late but by the time we got there the movie just got started. We only ended up missing the previews. We were supposed to watch 2D but brother made a mistake and it turned out to be 3D, so that was cool. Here are some info about and then the characters.
The movie was okay, had some funny parts, but overall, only gets one thumb up.

This is Darwin the group leader

This is Blaster the strong and cool guy in G Force

This is Juarez the girl in the movie and the one that always saves Blaster

This is Speckles the group wiz and also in the end he was the bad guy

This is Mooch the fly, he shows the group theplaces they need, and he loves to eat

This is Hurley, he is the funniest character in the movie, he also finds out that Darwin was his brother

This zach(onthe right) and kellie(on the left) zach found the group and made them talk and kellie is the helper

This is Bucky the ferret in the movie but he says he is a hamster, he was in a pet store with Hurly, in the end he becomes a G Force member
That was G force if i were you i would watch on video, unless you get a chance to go watch in 3D like me
.
We ended our day with dinner at Village Green, mmmm…mmmm…
3 Hadiths by Imam Hassan
by Ali on Aug.09, 2009, under Hadith
I am surprised by the people that think about the food that goes into their bodies but they don’t think about their spiritual matters and the food for their soul. They save their stomach from harmful food but they allow bad thoughts to enter their mind.
The Love of Allah (SWT)
by Ali Akbar on Aug.09, 2009, under Islamic Stories
Do you think Allah loves others more then you? And do you think He helps others but not you.
Here is one example. One day a man went to a state for a visit, and he had a flight back home that morning. He woke up late that morning and by the time he got to the airport he had missed his flight and every flight was booked for a while. He became extremely mad that morning. When he got back to his hotel room he turned on the TV, listened to the news, and heard that the plane that he was going to take but missed had exploded. See Allah (SWT) helps you even if you don’t ask for it or even if your mad.

In The Name of Allah
did you know that if you say astaghforillah 70 times at night Allah will…
- forgive most of the sins you did that day
- send you his blessings from heaven
- give you money
- give you a child that is special

In Islam the “perfect” that we all should be looking for is…
Allah.
———————————————————————————————
Your job in life is to serve the lord who created, not just you, but everything. Who is that lord? -Allah
…Also the reason we exist is to serve Allah.
———————————————————————————————
Before anyone comes to existence we agree with Allah that…
- there is no god but Allah
- to bear witness that Mohammad (pbuh) is the messenger of Allah
- to bear witness that imam Ali is his successor
The first step of becoming a true servant of Allah is to “observe” your 5 daily prayers.
Before that you must close the doors of sin and open the doors of obedience.
Did you know that you cannot obtain taghwa wothout being a true servant of Allah.
Imam Ali says that he is proud that Allah is his lord and that he is Allah’s servant.
Have you ever thought that forgetting is a blessing! —think about it!
