Proof of Allah’s existence in the Holly Quran

We all know that Allah has created everything .

Two main proofs of this in the Quran are:

1.) All creations must have an absolute creator.

There is hekmat in all of Allah’s creations and blessings and we shall never know them all.

2.) All of these creations and blessings have perfect nazm, order, and balance.

One aye that can perfectly prove this is the 5th aye of surah Zumar which we read in hajj Amin’s class.

سُوۡرَةُ الزُّمَر

39_51

Az-Zumar

He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to go int he day and makes the day to go in the night.  And He has subjected the sun and the moon.  Each running (on a fixed course) for an appointed term.  Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving. (5)

Imam Jafer Al-Sadiq (AS) stated in Usoole Kafi;

Imam Ali (AS) was talking on the membar (podium) and a person named Za’alab who always wanted to ask questions that leaves the person speechless, asked Imam Ali, “Have you ever seen your creator?”

Imam Ali Responded, ” I don’t worship the God I don’t see.”

Za’alab asked, “How do you see him?”

Imam Ali Replied, “I can’t see him with my eyes but can see him with my heart, faith, and through his creations.”

Here is a quick recap of what Abdol Hamid talked about in his Saturday session.

By: Mohammadamin

We are going to try to cover the pillars of 5 Islam partially each Saturday. This Saturday we began with the first pillar Tawheed.

Abdol Hamid touched a bit on the subject of atheism and how to respond to it. He gave an example of when Haj Hasannain’s Uncle was riding an airplane full with Chinese atheists. Suddenly their airplane shook and went through severe turbulence and all of the so called atheists started praying. When Haj Hasannain’s Uncle asked them what they were doing, their exact answer was, “We are seeking hope.” Then Haj Hasannain’s Uncle said that hope is Allah. By this example Abdol hamid was trying to prove that when it’s a life or death situation you will reach out to God and seek his help, even if you’re an atheist.

Then we further discussed about a short yet immensely profound Hadith which was;

The Holy Prophet(PBUH) stated: (( من عرف نفسه فقد عرف ربه ))

Whoever recognizes his nafs (Inner self) he will recognize his lord.

This Hadith has so much meaning to it. Mofasers have wrote volumes after volumes about this subject. The meaning applies to each person differently and it’s for you to decide how it applies to you.

Our class started with a nice indoor soccer. Once again we played something that looked like soccer but it was not exactly soccer.

After our “soccer game” we went to class for a discussion about Haj (Pilgrimage). As you know right now, we are all in the month of Dhul-Hijjah which is the month of Haj. So, we started talking about what the concept of Haj is and what is it that Allah (SWT) is teaching us throughout this journey. We spoke about what Haj is like really like and every single person came up with a different perspective about Haj. Throughout this journey, Allah (SWT) teaches each of His servants a different lesson, according to the needs of each individual. At the end, every person who returns back from Haj, returns with a new lesson and a new experience that is useful for his life. The challenge for us is to remember that lesson and try to apply what Allah (SWT) taught us throughout this journey in our lives. Haj is like real life and for us to live in this life ( to be alive), it requires us to be dynamic beings. And to be dynamic, it requires to understand the importance of our existence and our responsibilities in the world.

After our discussion, we joined our Mohebban Brothers for our Imam Hassan’s(a.s) presentation. Next week is our sisters turn to present; so, we all are looking forward for this Saturday to come. So far, our mohebban girls performed an amazing job on their presentations. Nice Job !

At the end, we finished our class with reciting Quran and its Tafseer. Look under Quran class recap for more details.

Friendship for more than a year is . . .

by Abdolhamid on Nov.12, 2009, under Brother's Weekly Recap

We talked about Friendship for about 4weeks.

screen-shot-2009-11-10-at-43129-pm

All of us know about whom should we choose as a friend, but sometimes we forget signs of the right person and we need a reminder, so these weeks were reminders for all of us. We brought up quotes from the Holy Quran and Hadith from our Imam’s.

Our last Hadith about friendship was from Imam Sadegh(PBUH). The point of this Hadith is how our Imam reminds us not to think that if your friends, there is nothing further than that.

« مودة یوم میلة   و  مودة شهر قرابة  و  مودة سنة رحم ماسة»

A friendship for a day is like having an affection.
A friendship for a month is like making family.
A friendship for a year is like an inseparable connection.

Keep on good Friends! With that said inshallah we will continue our Hadith section with a new series of topics next week.

Just dont forget to pray for all the Hujjaj that are going to Haj this year for a safe Ziyarat, specially Mr Baghaei, Haj Mohammad Ali, Bro Mustafa and Seyed Ali Tofigh.

LOYALTY

Level of Loyalty

What Has Happened to Your Sons?

After the Shahadat of Imam Ali and the permanent throne of Kelafat left for Mo’aviy Ebn Abu Sofyan; whether he wanted to or not, there was some encounters between him and the faithful companions of Imam Ali. Every effort of Moaviyeh was towards getting Imam Ali’s companions to confess that there is no benefits with being loyal and friendly companion with Imam Ali, and to try and get them to say that they have lost everything following Imam Ali and his path. He hoped to hear one statement or deceleration of regret and disappointment from one of his companions, but this wish of Mo’aviyeh never came true. After Imam Ali’s death, hiscompanions became more aware of Imam Ali’s Greatness and characteristics. In this sense, they showed bravery, boldness, and truthfulness for Imam Ali by the many sacrifices that they made while Imam Ali was alive, because of their friendship with Imam Ali, Imam Ali’s just rules and brilliant regulations, and for the sake of his vast Islamic knowledge. Sometimes the result of Mo’aviyeh’s plan would go unsuccessful for so long that even Mo’aviyeh would be disappointed with himself, so much that Mo’aviyeh and his relatives would succumb to the feeling and the responses of Imam Ali’s loyal followers.

One of these faithful, loyal , and sacrificial followers was Adi the son of Haatam. In the political stances of his tribe Adi was the governor. He had many sons. His sons, himself, and his tribe were all devoted soldiers to Imam Ali. Three of his sons whose names were Tarfe, Tarif, and Taaref became shaheed side by side with Imam Ali in the battle of Seffain..

After the incident of Siffain many years later, when Imam Ali became Shahhed and Mo’aviyeh became the new permanent Kalife, accidenttally Adi and Mo’aviyeh met each other. Because Mo’aviyeh wanted to resurface the bad recollection for Adi and also get him to Declare and confess that how much loss and harm befell upon him by following Imam Ali, Mo’aviyeh asked him, “What happened to your sons Tarfe, Tarif, and Taaref. Imam Ali

Adi replied, “In Siffain, side by side of Imam Ali, they became shaheed.”

Mo’aviyeh slyly retorded, “Ali did not follow justice with you.”

Adi replied, “Why?”

“Becasue he threw your sons in front of the battle field and he hid his own sons behind.”

Adi replied, “It wasn’t Imam Ali that did not follow justice with me, it was I who wasn’t just with Imam Ali. “

Mo’aviyeh asked with confusion, “Why?”

Adi answered, “Because he died and I stayed alive, I should have sacrificed my own life when Imam Ali was still alive.”

Mo’aviyeh saw that his intention hadn’t come true. In a way he was very inclined to hear about Imam Ali’s characteristics and qualities from the people who learned these things from Imam Ali by being at his side, countless nights and days. He begged Adi to describe Imam Ali’s qualities to him just like when Adi saw it himself. Adi replied, “Don’t bother me.”

Mo’aviyeh retorted, “You have to explain it to me.”

Then Adi finally describes Imam Ali as, “I swear to god, Imam Ali was very open minded and powerful. He spoke with justice. Knowledge and wisdom poured from his essence. He hated the hypocrisy, deceit, and the light of the world and he was friends with the night and the loneliness of the night. He cried a lot and thought a lot. Whenever he was alone he took tried harder to take control of his nafs and he thought of the disappointing recollections he had. He wore small clothing and lived a destitute life. When he was amongst us he became like one of us. Whenever we wanted something from him he would accept and whenever we went to visit him he would keep us close and he wouldn’t distance himself from us. His reverence and grace was so much that we were reluctant to speak and converse in front of him and he was so great that we couldn’t stare at him. When he smiled his teeth shone just like diamonds. He respected the honest believers and he was friendly with the indigent and the helpless. Neither the strong had a fearful oppression of him nor the helpless was disappointed of his justice. I swear to god! One night I saw him with my own two eyes standing for prayer in the adytum and when the darkness of the night had engulfed everything, his tears were rolling down his face and beard. Just like a snake he turned (In the process of crying). And he would escape and run just like the afflicted.

I think I can hear his voice (Metaphorically), he talked to the world saying, ” O world, you have come to show me yourself! Go and trick someone else. Your materialistic happiness does not matter the least to me.” He sighed loudly then continued, “I sigh from the few little good deeds that I have, from the long journey of my life that I have to undergo successfully, and from the small amount of companions.”

When the explanation of Adi reached this point, uncontrollable tears rolled down Mo’aviyeh’s face. After a while, he dried his tears with his sleeves and said, “May Allah bless Abu- Hassan. His actions were just as you explained. Now tell me, what are your feelings at the loss of him?”"

Adi replied sorrowfully, “Juts like a mother whose dearest child, was laid decapitated on her lap.” 23vdzj7

Mo’aviyeh unsurprised by what Adi said asked his final question, “Are you ever going to forget him?”

Adi said, “Is the world ever going to let me forget him?”

Weakest Person

by Abdolhamid on Nov.02, 2009, under Brother's Weekly Recap, Hadith

There is no one that can live his whole life alone. Socializing plays a big role in every human beings life. Either in school, sport activities, jobs and …. The next step after socializing is friendship.

We talked about a few examples of weakness and who do we call a weak person,
but who is a weak person in Imam Ali’s(PBUH)sayings
(Nahjul-Balaghe – wisdom 12)

اعجز الناس من عجز عن اکتساب الاخوان و اعجز منه من ضیع من ظفر به منهم

The weakest person is the one that can not find friends, and weaker than that is the one who makes friends but loses them.

imam_ridha_by_alkumaish

We finished our class by watching a few minutes of Imam Reza’s(AS) movie. The part where Imam(AS) has an inter-faith debate.
